Enjoy the Only Kind of SFW Porn with Tastemaker Hannah Hart

My Drunk Kitchen’s Hannah Hart doesn’t just turn down the shades, she puts them on for this deep dive into the world of Food P0rn. Literally. She’s wearing sunglasses. With all the hot, sticky, gooey goodness these photos are laying down, she probably needed a barrier of protection from full frontal food action.

Viewers be warned: while these saucy photos are definitely safe for work, we can’t guarantee they are safe for your appetite. One peek, and you might find yourself overcome with insatiable cravings. But why abstain, when it feels so good to indulge? Trust us, every image is tastefully done. Pun intended.

Hart herself defines food porn as beautiful pictures of delicious food. So really, you’re salivating over an odyssey of beauty. What’s more pleasurable than that? She pits poached eggs over polenta against a Doughnut Plant donut. Molcajete sauce against bright green, chunky Guacamole. We’re sorry – need a minute? We’ll wait.

Now where were we? Ah yes, Italians. We dare you to not cry out in ecstasy “that’s amore!” when you see the Italian dishes she reviews. Need an extra second or two? We promise not to tagliatelle. Oops, slipped another pun in.
We don’t eat and tell, so you will just have to watch the video to see the one dish from which even sunglasses can’t protect Hannah. Let’s just say it involves hot fudge.

So pull the curtains, loosen your belt a few notches and let our Tastemaker guide you through food porn. And don’t be a selfish food lover. If you have a favorite piece of food porn, tell us. Sharing is caring, after all.

DREAM TEAM.

A Toast to Our September Tastemaker: My Drunk Kitchen

Do you love to cook but hate doing it sober? No? How about fun, wonderful people? Do you like them? In either case, have we got a Tastemaker for you!

Aspiring comedienne Hannah Hart started off with an inconspicuous video for a friend. While cooking can sometimes get so frustrating many of us feel the urge to hit the bottle, Hannah decided to skip a few steps and start drinking right off the bat. Nine months later, her very funny show My Drunk Kitchen and her winning personality are taking the internet by storm. If the fun factor of cooking were ever in question, Hannah Hart is the answer.

We are so pumped to have My Drunk Kitchen as our Hungry Nation Tastemaker this month. Throughout the month she’ll be popping up in videos with some of our Hungry Nation creators, and she’ll also do a Hungry Nation episode in which she reviews food porn. Don’t worry, it’ll be safe for work!
Today’s video has Hannah whipping up some stupidly simple sangria with our very own Amy Cao, and gives you a chance to get to know Hannah a little better.
And what do you know? She’s got her very own YouTube channel too! So head on over there to watch all of the My Drunk Kitchen episodes. Warning: her hilarious videos might lead to binge viewing, so watch responsibly.

i love when people tell me which websites to go to, it makes the scary world wide web much easier to traverse. for example, amy cao’s five favorite food websites. Say that 5 times in a row….

hungrynation:

Start your Monday off right with five gob-smacking websites from Stupidly Simple Snack’s Amy Cao. When it comes to food, the Internet is chock-full of culinary sites. But we find it can be overwhelming to sort through the good, the bad and the half-baked foodie content out there. Googling food websites will return so many search results your glycemic index might skyrocket through the roof and straight on to the moon. And if the moon is in fact made of cheese, well you’re in trouble. So let Cao keep your feet firmly planted on the ground with her expert recommendations.

When you aren’t checking out the Hungry Nation network, naturally, take a gander at Amy’s fresh five to get your food fix. Just as we wouldn’t let fresh food spoil, so we promise not to spoil her fresh five. But here’s a nice whiff of where to get the full meal. And by whiff, we mean link love and by meal, we mean food website. We’d also work on our metaphors, if we weren’t so darn distracted by this week’s Fresh Five.

Foodspotting – not just restaurants, but dish recommendations!

ParlaFood – a food and travel blog based out of Italy, ‘nuff said.

LondonEater – more than just foodporn, but also great foodporn.

Midtown Lunch – never spend your lunch hour eating jalapeno poppers alone at TGIFriday’s again!

Eataku – a talent scout for Marvel Comics, shares his passion for food scouting.

Fresh Five: Secret Ingredients with Chef John
Much like a magician never reveals his tricks to his audience, a chef never reveals his secret ingredients to his diners. Good thing we know a chef.
Chef John, of Hungry Nation channel Food Wishes fame, shares with us his top five favorite secret ingredients for this week’s installment of Fresh Five.

If you’ve ever found yourself praying to the culinary gods for that one mystery ingredient to tie your dish together, well consider your wish granted. Without giving too much away, we are in the business of secrets today after all, let’s just say Chef John touts one of his top five ingredients as the “bacon of spices.”

Rest assured, we are not suggesting you permanently replace Adobo as your go-to secret ingredient – seriously, it turns a fried egg into a salty dream – but we think even the best chef’s bag of tricks can use an addition. While we may be a little biased, when Chef John has a recommendation, you ought to listen up. With 20 years of food industry experience and accolades like “Best Video Content” from the 2011 Saveur Best Food Blog Awards, Food Wishes is more like a dream come true for the aspiring cook.

After getting the down low on his lowdown cooking affairs, head over to the Food Wishes blog and make sure to subscribe to the Food Wishes channel.
Most secrets are meant for keeping, but we think Chef John’s are simply too good to keep to ourselves.
So, make sure to share this with your friends, and share your favorite secret ingredients with us! We can promise not to tell, but we can’t promise our lips will be sealed – if they were, how the heck could we try ‘em? Ah, Mondays.

Everyone should watch Claudia’s cooking show if only to ogle the amazing southern California produce. Seriously, do it for me.

hungrynation:

Mmmmmmmm Me Gusta the Mmm Me Gusta Cooking Show

SoCal cooking never looked so good. Meet Claudia Yuskoff, head chef and host of Mmm Me Gusta. She may describe it as “a little cooking show,” but her recipes are anything but small. From the god-like, Quail in Rose Petal Sauce, to the libacious, Cazadores Margaritas, Claudia cooks up rich Mexican cuisine sure to tingle your taste buds.

But don’t just take it from us, take a moment to get to know Claudia for yourself with this week’s Hungry Nation: Meet & Eat. For many Americans, the recession was a very low point in their lives. Claudia was among the unfortunate to lose their jobs, but she didn’t just make lemonade from the situation – she made a whole cooking show! Unemployment drove her to seek solace in the kitchen, and it was there Mmm Me Gusta was born.

Sipping on Horchata, her favorite childhood drink, Claudia talks about her experiences so far and shows off the source of her inspiration. If her recipes aren’t enough to make you drool, her gorgeous California kitchen sure will! In fact, may we suggest investing in a bib before you watch her videos? Your wardrobe will thank you. So devoted is she to using fresh, organic ingredients that she actually grows many of them in her garden. We can’t wait to see what she whips up with those watermelons. Seriously, we can’t wait. Claudia, if you’re reading this: Spoilers Welcome.

Subscribe to the Mmm Me Gusta channel to share her passion for food. Don’t worry if you find yourself falling in love with her work, the feeling is very mutual. She loves connecting with her audience, especially with the help of YouTube. Like so many of our Hungry Nation personalities, she does it for the love of food and all the food lovers.

¡Buen provecho, Hungry Nation.

Hungry for our brand spanking new show, Fresh Five?

Well tuck a napkin in your shirt collar because we’ve got the premiere episode for you right here, fresh off the grill. Okay, we didn’t actually grill the video – it was more of a light searing.

Hungry in Brooklyn’s Shea Hess helps us ring in the inaugural episode with her top five cooking tools she simply can’t live without. Spoiler alert: the microwave doesn’t make the cut. But seriously, whether browsing the kitchen section at Bed, Bath and Beyond or a boutique cooking supply store – picking out tools can be daunting, not to mention expensive. The truth is you don’t need to fill your cabinets with every contraption in the catalogue to whip up a delicious meal. Less might even be more – or at least easier. Don’t get us wrong, if buying an ice cream maker is an essential for your kitchen we aren’t going to stop you – in fact we might request a pint or two. Consider these five recommended tools to be a helpful guide, a reference point, a friendly suggestion.

And whether you are hungry in Pawtucket, Milwaukee or Spokane, Hungry in Brooklyn has lots of tasty, simple recipes for the organic at heart. Make sure to check out their latest video
here!
Hopefully we whet your appetite with this Fresh Five, because we have more in the oven from our Hungry Nation creators to get you thinking creatively about all things food. Stay tuned for more new shows on Hungry Nation.
Bon appétit!
